St. Luke’s (Maidstone) Scout Group take the issue of privacy very seriously and we are committed to protecting and respecting our users’ privacy. This Privacy Statement sets out our current data processing practices and should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Use.

The purpose of this privacy statement is to inform you about the type of information that we (St Luke’s Maidstone Scout Group) may gather intentionally or unintentionally about you when you visit our website (, how we may use that information and whether we give it to anyone. 1. The Information we collect

We may collect the following information:

  • Name, (personal or business name)
  • contact information including email address
  • demographic information such as postcode, preferences and interests
  • other information relevant to surveys, polls and/or offers
  • Users may supply other personally identifiable information (such as address or telephone numbers) for various purposes on this site. These purposes may include registering to receive e-mail newsletters, requesting further information about our Group, and/or registering to become a member.

    St. Luke’s (Maidstone) Scout Group does not collect personal information from you unless you provide it to us. This means that you can visit our site without telling us who you are or revealing any personally identifiable information about yourself.

    The only circumstances in which we will provide any of your personal data to a third party for non commercial purposes are those contained in this Privacy Policy.

    2. Registration/ Form information

    When you register or fill in an online form with, or our third party facility providers, St. Luke’s (Maidstone) Scout Group will ask for your name, email address and/or postal code. We usually also capture your IP address at the time you register.

    3. What we do with the data

    When you supply information about yourself for a specific purpose, for exapmple registering or making an enquiry, we use the information for that purpose only. From time to time we may also use your information to contact you for market research or to provide you with information we think would be of interest. We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • Internal record keeping.
  • We may use the information to improve our products and services.
  • We may periodically send promotional emails about the Group which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided.
  • We may use the information to customise the website according to your interests.
  • We may share data supplied by you (or collected about you) with other parts of The Scout Association, for example District or County Scout Council.

    4. Advertising and Links may include interactive advertising for other businesses as part of the site operation. It may also provide links to other sites of interest. Our Privacy Statement does not cover sites other than our own, so please refer to their own terms of use before using.

    5. Email Links and Forms

    We use e-mail links and forms located on this site to allow you to contact us directly via e-mail. We use the information provided in your e-mail to respond to your questions or comments. We may also store your comments for future reference. Your personal information is never shared with third parties, unless we have sought your permission first or we have to use a third party to fully answer your enquiry.

    6. Disclosure of data by order of a Court and Security

    We reserve the right to communicate a user’s personal information as we hold to third parties who are empowered by regulation, statute or order of a court.

    We have security measures in place to protect our user database. Access to this database is restricted internally. However, it remains each the user’s responsibility:

    To hold Users’ login information. This option can be turned off by switching the “Remember Your Password” option to “No” in your registration details.

    To ensure the best use of our Service by users, by means of a temporary cookie. These cookies disappear when the user’s browser session ends, or if the users click the “sign off” link.
